From an original oil painting, 'The Coming King' shows a young Lion walking into the setting sun, bathed in the beautiful light of golden hour. His face, mane and the surrounding foliage catch these golden rays. These golden tones are set off beautifully by the dusky violet sky and mountains in the distance.
 
This painting took many months to complete and is overall probably my favourite painting to date. One i am very happy with and how it all came together in the end. I love the colour pallette, the golden light and tranquility of this piece. The play between the power of the lion, and such a gentle expression.
